The City of Brookings is seeking applications for a vacancy on the Planning Commission. Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office not later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, April 7.
The City Planning Commission is responsible for the City Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the city, including areas outside the boundaries of the city and within the planning jurisdiction. The City Planning Commission members also serve as the city’s Board of Adjustment, having authority to act on variances or special exceptions to the Zoning Ordinance.
The Commission members serve three-year terms, and residency is required.
