The City of Brookings Public Works Department will begin reconstruction of Jackrabbit Avenue starting June 29, 2022. This work will include: the removal of the existing asphalt surface and turning it into gravel, replacement of ramps, sewer manhole work, and new asphalt surface. The project will last approximately three weeks. Through traffic will be prohibited during this time.
The City reminds the public to be cautious when driving or walking near the project area, especially around work areas under construction. They state, “we understand there will be short-term inconveniences throughout the project and we appreciate working together with you on any issues.” Issues related to construction items can be directed to the City Engineering Office at 605-692-6629.
