Mayor Tim Reed is now accepting nominations for the Mayor’s Generational Leadership Award. The Mayor’s Generation Leadership Award recognizes the importance of young leaders who make a community vibrant and dynamic. Mayor Tim Reed created the Mayor’s Generational Leadership Award in 2014, and Scott Meyer received the first award.

This award is given to a community member 35 years old or younger who has affected the community in the following ways:
• Positively changes how we think about our community and city
• Helps Brookings attract and retain young professionals and families
• Motivates new generations to be active in their communities
• Contributes to the advancement and wellbeing of the community through service in areas such as: education, sports, fund-raising, charitable-voluntary service, economic development, arts and the environment.

All nominations will be considered and reviewed by the Mayor. When the final selection for the 2015 Mayor’s Generational Leadership Award recipient has been made, the City will notify the recipient and the public. The nomination deadline is Friday, September 4, 2015.
